A traveller sits with her Indian host at the family guesthouse, laughing together before or after a day of activities. Volunteers who stay here help with the camel safari, the guesthouse and small community projects in nearby villages. In return they receive free food, accommodation and a deep cultural exchange. Days are filled with shared stories, learning about Rajasthan, trying home cooked food and planning trips into the desert. Many volunteers say they arrive as guests and leave feeling like part of the family.
