About Me

I am a retired teacher of English and I like to have young people around me. I was an au pair in Paris, Rome, and London to learn languages and about other cultures, now I like to host people from all around the world to share my long life of militant ecologist.

Note about the volunteer work and other expectations

General housekeeping tasks and in the warm season help in the garden. In the winter, keeping the fire going and cleaning. I can teach you about cooking and help you with your French if need be.

I am more or less vegetarian but I eat fish and good meat when I know where it comes from;

VISA – could you provide Visa support/info/invitation letters?

Maybe. We can help with an invitation letter if the candidate has good qualifications.

What to do in the free time

I go hiking, cycling, attend concerts, invite friends over or meet them outside. I have a grand piano so I would very much like to host people who play or like classical music.

Geography

I live in a small medieval town, near COLMAR. It is on the wine road, so if you are interested in wine, this is the place.

How to get to your site

The nearest airport is BASEL Mulhouse. there is a train station in Rouffach but if no connection, I can come and pick you up in COLMAR. Many people come with FLIXBUS or with BLABLACAR, car sharing.

There are 3 bikes in the house so cyclists are most welcome.

Yes!

I had 2 helpers who did not turn up, very upsetting. I have a large garden and house and really need help. It is a pity that nobody can enjoy such a nice place, beautiful garden and countryside. Harvest time is particularly nice in ALSACE with the new wine, a lot of fruit, vegetables…and all organic…!

Visa

I cannot help with VISA and I would not be able to send invitation letters for legal reasons. I will ignore messages with such requests.
