CINCA EC (Centro Intercultural de Capacitación y de Agroecología) is an eco-farm near Quito, Ecuador, focused on organic agriculture, permaculture and natural building.
Volunteers help sow, water and harvest a wide variety of vegetables, prepare organic fertilizers and work in a chacana-designed permaculture garden. There are also bioconstruction projects such as tiny houses made with recycled materials, cob and bamboo, plus a natural septic tank. You work about 6 hours a day, Monday to Friday; weekends rotate for basic animal care, with recovered days off. Accommodation is in shared dormitories with common kitchen and dry toilets, and meals are vegetarian, mostly from the garden. To support the young project, volunteers contribute 10 USD per person per week toward extra food. The farm welcomes international volunteers, offers internet, mountain hikes nearby and easy bus access to Tabacundo, local markets, lagoons, volcanoes and Quito.
