This small mountain refuge is located in the hills of Tucumรกn, northwest Argentina.
Volunteers help a family project that welcomes hikers, climbers and nature lovers. The exchange is simple: about 4โ5 hours of help per day, 5 days per week, in return for shared accommodation plus breakfast and lunch. Tasks include caring for animals, basic cleaning, gardening and general help around the refuge, so volunteers should be ready for physical outdoor work and a rustic lifestyle. There is no volunteer fee, but dinner is not included, so volunteers need to cover their evening meal. Internet is available but the signal is not very strong. Free time can be spent walking local trails and visiting nearby places such as Cafayate, Tafรญ del Valle and Amaicha del Valle. It is a good option for people who like simple living, nature, cultural exchange and practising Spanish in a quiet mountain area.
