Resorts – volunteer projects page. This section is new. We created this page to collect all of the volunteering opportunities that allow you to stay in a resort or give you the possibility to learn more about resort businesses and organizations.

What is a Resort?

A resort is a place that provides relaxation and recreation in addition to accommodation, meals and other basic amenities. You can usually find Resorts in a natural and scenic environment. They offer guests a variety of recreational activities and services such as spas, gymnasiums, swimming pools, tours, etc. A beach resort is a resort located near the waterfront and offers activities such as surfing, diving, sailing, beach sports, etc. A mountain/hill resort is usually located near a mountain and offers activities such as trekking, mountaineering, hiking, etc. terms, a resort is an excellent holiday destination.

Difference between Resorts and Hotels

The main difference between resorts and hotels lies in their purpose. The main purpose of a resort is to provide relaxation and recreation as well as accommodation, meals and other basic services, while the main purpose of a hotel is to provide accommodation and meals for its guests. Also, you can find resorts in a scenic environment while hotels can be in city centres or other crowded areas. In addition, resorts can offer a variety of activities that hotels don’t. Another difference is in the free services; both often offer free services such as Wi-Fi, newspapers, etc. However, nowadays resorts also offer free transport from the airport and tickets to nearby tourist attractions. Guests tend to stay longer in a resort, while hotels are more used for overnight stays. Finally, a hotel can be found within a resort, but a resort is never located within a hotel.
