At the blue entrance to Green Village Hope Children Home and Nursery School in Ipali, Vihiga County, a group of children pause with their bicycles, ready for play and the short rides that brighten afternoons. The gate shows the home’s name and its promise of care and support for orphans and widows. Inside, the project provides shelter, meals, school needs and a stable routine for vulnerable children, while also extending outreach to teenage mothers and local families. Volunteers help with childcare, homework clubs, gardening, animal care, building and simple maintenance, computer tasks, fundraising and health support. Typical service is 4 to 5 hours a day across four days each week, with accommodation and meals provided. There are no program fees, only optional donations that go directly to projects. Free time can include hikes, cultural visits near Kisumu and games on the lawn. Join a friendly team that values inclusion, safety and practical impact.
