Quinta atlanta volunteer exchange in Alcoentre, Portugal

Collage from a rural volunteer project near Lisbon, Portugal: host holding wild mushrooms, cloistered farmhouse, sunset on a rocky coast, green parrot in an aviary, a circle of cats eating on patterned tiles, and a garden scene with a cat by a pebble mound and tree.

In Alcoentre, about 50 km from Lisbon, Alex is restoring a 100 year old country house into a small farm-style hotel. The property spans six hectares with eucalyptus woods, vegetable beds, fruit trees, aviaries with parrots and doves, twenty chickens and a large, friendly cat family. One or two practical volunteers are invited to help with planting, pruning, watering, light building and repairs, furniture upcycling or mosaics, and basic animal care. Media skills are a bonus for documenting progress. In exchange you receive a private bedroom, access to a kitchen, laundry, gym and heated pool, groceries for your meals, local lifts, and 200 euros per month pocket money. Great weekend trips include Óbidos, NazarÃĐ, Peniche and Lisbon. Start from 1 November for one to three months. Please confirm weekly hours when applying.
