Volunteer at Green Village Hope Children Home in Ipali, Vihiga County, Kenya, 2 km from Luanda on the Kisumu Busia Road. The project cares for 38 orphans and vulnerable children and supports teenage mothers and widows. Volunteers help with childcare, education, administration, fundraising, farming and animal care, building, computer and web tasks, filmmaking, and health assistance. Commitment is 4 to 5 hours a day, 4 days a week, year round. Up to 10 volunteers are hosted with accommodation and three meals daily, free Wi Fi, bedding, mosquito nets, and a welcoming team. No program fees, only optional donations or crowdfunding that go directly to projects. Visa and invitation letters are available. All ages and volunteers with disabilities are welcome. Alcohol and smoking are not allowed on site. Free time can include hiking Bunyore Hill, visiting Dunga Beach, seeing the Crying Stone and Kisumu city, and engaging in sports with the community.
