Generation Guiders Girls Empowerment volunteer program in Kenya

The organisation Generation Guiders works in rural Kenya (especially in Trans‑Nzoia County) to support adolescent girls and women so they can access education, health information and empowerment opportunities. One of their key initiatives is called the “Chunga Dada Initiative” which provides sanitary pads to girls so they don’t miss school during their menstrual periods. They also run the “One Girl One Pad Campaign” aiming to raise funds for sanitary pads for vulnerable girls. Another programme, “Tulia Girls Program”, offers safe community spaces for girls aged 13-19 to get sexual and reproductive health knowledge, engage in peer activities, build leadership skills and address discriminatory traditions. Volunteers with Generation Guiders can help by joining the girls’ clubs, supporting awareness sessions or helping with logistics for pad distribution campaigns. In short: the project provides practical help (pads, health info, safe space) plus empowering activities so girls can stay in school, avoid early marriage and find their voice.
