Real farm life experience – Come and join us at our farm. We are located in the heart of Serra da Malcata Natural Reserve in the centre east of Portugal. If you are interested in a more sustainable lifestyle, surrounded by Nature, wilderness and a very authentic, original landscape, this is for you!
Among all the farm and day-to-day activities, we are now especially needing help to build an electric fence to keep our goats, sheep and cows safe.
Other daily animal care, gardening and foresting tasks will be done so you can participate in your free time if you feel like it.
We are looking for people with:
- Strong interest in Nature and Heritage Breeds of animals;
- The vigorous capacity of adaptation;
- Respect for Nature, so we need to behave accordingly;
- Families with children are welcome as we also have 2 sons.
More information
We are now opening the opportunity to be part of our farm activities from the month of January onwards. We are looking for help especially in animal care – fence building – to keep goats, sheep and cows. There may be other farm-related tasks depending on the days, needs, and amount of volunteers.
You will have the opportunity to experiment a very different lifestyle, almost self-sufficient and based on a traditional Portuguese culture. The work will be 5 hours per day, for 5 days per week. 3 meals are offered, including free bread and jams, snacks, coffee and tea for the breaks.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available in a shared basic bedroom.
