Hostería Las Orquídeas Runtun is a family-run lodge in the rural community of Runtun, near Baños de Agua Santa, Ecuador.

Surrounded by mountains, orchids and views of the Tungurahua volcano, it welcomes volunteers all year round. Helpers support the hostel with cleaning, gardening and simple marketing tasks for about 5 hours a day, 3 days a week. In exchange, volunteers receive free accommodation – often in a cosy treehouse or lodge room – plus meals, a friendly atmosphere and the chance to practise Spanish. Vegetarians are welcome. During free time you can visit the famous Casa del Árbol, try the extreme swings, hike the valleys or explore Baños’ hot springs and waterfalls. The place is ideal for positive, sociable travellers who enjoy nature, culture and peaceful mountain life.
