European Solidarity Corps 🇪🇺

Explore European Solidarity Corps volunteering opportunities published on Voluntouring.org, including individual volunteering, volunteering teams and other projects supported through the current EU solidarity programme.

ESCESC, the European Solidarity Corps, is an EU programme supporting young people in volunteering and solidarity projects, with programme-specific funding, support and participation conditions. calls normally have specific dates, application deadlines and eligibility requirements. Many older announcements in this archive have already closed, so always check the publication date and current programme information before applying.

What is the European Solidarity Corps? 🇪🇺

The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is a European Union programme supporting young people who take part in volunteering and solidarity activities in their own country or abroad. It currently includes volunteering activities, Solidarity Projects and Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. ESC is separate from Erasmus+, while the former European Voluntary Service (EVS) is now a historical programme.

Who can participate and what is covered?

Standard ESC volunteering is generally open to eligible residents aged 18 to 30. Humanitarian Aid Volunteering has an upper age limit of 35 and additional requirements. Individual volunteering can last from 2 weeks to 12 months, while volunteering teams normally last from 2 weeks to 2 months. Activities are full-time, generally between 30 and 38 hours per week.

Programme support normally covers travel according to ESC rules, accommodation, food, insurance, training and support services, plus pocket money for personal expenses. Participants cannot be required to pay a participation fee for an ESC activity. Exact allowances and reimbursement limits vary between projects and countries.

For current rules, see the official European Solidarity Corps information and the ESC volunteering guidance.

How to use this page

Check the publication date, activity dates, deadline, eligible countries and exact volunteer role. Also confirm accommodation, food arrangements, pocket money, travel reimbursement, insurance and weekly schedule with the responsible organisation.

Older Voluntouring posts may still use EVS or Erasmus+ terminology that was appropriate when they were published. For historical European Voluntary Service projects, use the EVS archive. For current Erasmus+ mobility and youth opportunities, see Erasmus+.

Publication on Voluntouring.org does not constitute verification, endorsement or a guarantee of selection for an ESC project.
