What happened to EU Aid Volunteers? 🇪🇺
EU Aid Volunteers was an EU humanitarian volunteering initiative operating under the 2014–2020 programme period. It was phased out and its humanitarian volunteering activities were incorporated into the European Solidarity Corps from 2021. Current EU-funded humanitarian volunteering opportunities are therefore published under the European Solidarity Corps Humanitarian Aid Volunteering strand rather than the former EU Aid Volunteers programme.
About the historical programme
EU Aid Volunteers connected volunteers with humanitarian organisations working in countries affected by disasters or humanitarian challenges. Historical roles included areas such as project management, communications, logistics, disaster risk reduction, agriculture and other forms of organisational or technical support.
Some archived Voluntouring announcements also included online volunteering. Requirements and support arrangements varied between individual vacancies, so the conditions described in an old listing should not be interpreted as current European Union programme rules.

Current EU humanitarian volunteering is available through the European Solidarity Corps. Its Humanitarian Aid Volunteering strand has separate eligibility, training and participation requirements. Check the official European Youth Portal for current conditions and vacancies.
