What does fully funded mean? 🌐💰
A fully funded opportunity generally covers or reimburses most of the major costs connected with participation. This does not necessarily mean that every personal expense is covered, and the term should not be confused with a paid job or salary. Travel reimbursements, allowances and other benefits may also be subject to limits or programme-specific conditions.
What may be covered?
Fully funded opportunities can include volunteering placements, youth programmes, cultural exchanges, training activities or other international programmes. Accommodation and meals are commonly included, while some programmes also cover travel, insurance, visas, local transport, training or pocket money.
Simply offering free accommodation and food does not automatically make an opportunity fully funded. Check whether other significant participation costs remain your responsibility and whether reimbursements are paid before, during or after the programme.
