This mountain project in Costa Rica is creating a small camp and farm where visitors can enjoy nature, help with animals and learn about local traditions.
Volunteers help with animal care, gardening, building simple structures, cleaning and general farm tasks. There are also chances to support film making and promotion. In daily life you practise Spanish by talking with the family and neighbours, and you can learn about Costa Rican customs, food and rural life, including activities with nearby indigenous communities and their language. Accommodation and meals are free, and options include private or shared rooms and tents. Volunteers help about five hours a day, five days a week, and should be ready for physical work with wood, plants and farm animals. Free time can be spent hiking, swimming in the river, horseback riding and, when visiting the beach area, trying free surf lessons and other ocean activities.
