General info
We are local NGO that operates in the Amalfi Coast (UNESCO Site) – Italy, engaged in projects about environmental protection, sustainable development, youth, local traditions, international volunteering, natural building and so on. In the organization, we are usually 2 or 3 local people working, plus some international students who are doing an internship.
We organise activities such as:
- international volunteering workcamps
- workshops
- local events
- youth exchanges
- European projects for the mobility of youth workers
- local environmental projects
Our office is in the village of Tramonti, surrounded by nature, located in an area of around 3000 mยฒ with a nice garden, some cultivated terraces, camping area and our old barn which is becoming an eco-building, insulated with natural techniques (straw, clay, lime, canes) and with an outdoor eco-kitchen.
We started working on the eco-building since September 2015 and we hosted more than 80 people so far that have contributed to construction with their bare hands and feet.
Travellers will have the chance to learn about our projects on local development, so they will learn about our local products and our traditions from the village of Tramonti and the Amalfi Coast as a whole.
We also have an international environment due to the presence of students and volunteers coming from all over the world for different projects, making the cultural exchange a daily opportunity.
Tramonti is a rural village where you can get to know the local people quite easily and learn about their culture. In our association we are promoting sustainable ways of life and projects, so we also offer the possibility to learn new sustainable approaches to many fields (agriculture, natural building, food, etc..).
Volunteers will sleep in the attic of the office, while the kitchen and toilet are just downstairs, where we have also space for activities, a wooden oven for pizza and our “workstations”.
We have camp beds and air mattresses (if needed). We ask our guests to bring a sleeping bag when possible. Food is available in the kitchen and according to the situations you can cook by yourself or join us for the meal.
In the eco-building (which is just outside the office) there are 2 outdoor showers and one bathroom with shower. We have hot water.

Volunteer expectations
We usually look for people to help us trim the grass around, collect wood, complete the electric system and many other “maintenance” activities (fix the fences and wooden steps, help an old lady in the garden, pick fruits and herbs, etc.).
Sometimes we might even need help on some other local/international projects with volunteers (like cleaning the public beaches, organize a workshop on recycling for kids, clean green areas or old paths, etc.) or to create media content for documenting the activities of the association for communication purposes.
Please be aware that we usually do not plan our Voluntour projects on a long term scale, so if you send us requests for more than 1-2 months ahead we might not be able to tell you if we will need help.

What to do in the free time
The Amalfi Coast area is quite famous and considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Nearby on the coast, you can visit the towns of Amalfi, Ravello and Positano but it is also possible to reach easily the famous Isle of Capri. One hour from here there are also the archaeological sites of Pompei and Ercolano, and also the city of Naples is within reach.
There is a lot of sightseeing to be done and also in our village, there are very nice hiking routes in the mountains.
If you want to go for a swim, the seaside is 7 km away (15 minutes by bus).
Language
English, Italian, any other language available
How to get to your site
Depending on the season, local transport is easier or less easy. Please contact us for details.ย In general: The closest airport is Naples, the closest train station is Salerno. From Naples or from Salerno you can take buses (a train and busses) to arrive here in Tramonti. The last busses might already leave from Salerno at 18.30.
So please have this in mind.
Is there internet access?
Yes!
