Abridge EduCamp was Abridge Academy’s flagship cultural exchange program.
It placed students and graduates to teach English or STEM at short summer camps and homestays across Asia, mainly China and also Japan and Taiwan. Typical placements lasted three to ten weeks for camps and six weeks to six months for homestays in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. Packages often included flights, accommodation, orientation, cultural trips, and an accredited online TEFL course. More than 150 participants joined before the pandemic. Travel limits and partner closures led Abridge Academy to pause EduCamp and focus on online ESL curriculum and teacher support.
Abridge EduCamp ran before the pandemic, then was cancelled. The provider’s own page now describes EduCamp in the past tense and explains it was halted. Abridge Academy today focuses on online ESL curriculum and teacher training rather than sending people to summer camps or homestays.

The Forbidden City is the old imperial palace in central Beijing. Built in 1420, it housed China’s emperors from the Ming to the end of the Qing dynasty. Inside its red walls and golden roofs are grand gates, courtyards, gardens, and more than 900 buildings. Highlights include the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the carved marble terraces. A wide moat and tall walls surround the complex. Today it is the Palace Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of China’s most visited attractions.
