Who we are
The topics of our Non-Profit Organization are:- sustainable tourism,
- intercultural,
- local development and
- organic farming
The main project and headquarters of our association is a youth hostel named Wiki Hostel located in a green oasis on the top of a hill in the charming frame of Romeโs countryside. Around the hostel gravitate many other social projects that aim to increase awareness and models about sustainable local development.
The mission
Our goal is not just to host our travellers at the best of our ability, but also to promote the hostelling & backpacking philosophy and to put in practice intercultural exchanges between people from different countries, languages, and cultures. We promote many cultural events for a crazy crossover between the local community and international travellers: cooking together, discovering the local traditions, and sharing experiences.
The activities are Non-Profit based: all the earnings are re-invested to grow up projects and local community!
The Hostel and the other projects are managed by a young, active, open-minded crew oriented to the people ๐

#1ย Help & Travel: Socialization, kitchen events and gardening at Wiki Hostel
- Facilitate socialization and interaction between the hostelโs guests
- Jobs of general maintenance (eg. gardening, cleaning of common areas)
- Help with website translations
- Encourage the participation of guests and travellers in the daily activities/experiences of the hostel
#2ย Handyman & Have Fun: decore and improve Wiki Hostel
- Woodworks: production of simple objects/furniture (manual skill is required)
- Follow the maintenance man and help him with small repairs (eg. painting, plumbing, electricalโฆ)
- Decoring and painting works
- Facilitate socialization and interaction between the hostelโs guests
#3ย Play & Perform: Perform in summer events or propose training!
- Organize unplugged/live concerts or little shows at the hostel or in the old town
- According to your special skills, you can propose training (e.g. Yoga, meditation, music classesโฆ)

- Encourage the participation of guests and travellers in the daily activities/experiences of the hostel
What we offer

You can learn a bit about how we work as a social enterprise: we are a small but complex organization and you will discover we are much more than a simple hostelโฆ Of course, you can learn several jobs! You will improve your soft skills like team working, communication and interpersonal skills, we ask you to be responsible and learn to respect the agreements and the other people working or volunteering with you.

Location
The hostel is located in Zagarolo, a typical Italian old town just 30 minutes out of Rome downtown (directly connected with the main hub of the โRoma Terminiโ railway). We are in the nice southeast of Rome, the so-called โCastelli Romani & Monti Prenestiniโ area: it is a beautiful area, rich in history and featured a tradition of good wine and tasty food. This is a favourited departure point for visiting Rome thanks to the many direct and fast train connections between our little old town (Zagarolo) and Roma downtown.
