Volunteer at the Wild Elephants Hostel

Hey, there fellow traveller! If you ever thought about volunteering in a cool social hostel, we’re here for you! We are not a party hostel, but oh boy we do party every single day
We’re two very social hostels in the city center of Bratislava, Slovakia: the Wild Elephants Hostel and the Urban Elephants Hostel. Our goal is to create a space filled with activities so our guests may never be bored and have a memorable stay, with the help of all the staff. We work hard, party harder and then the next day work even harder with a hangover. Our minimum stay is between two weeks to a month, but if you are happy here and if we are happy with you you can stay up to five months.

What are you looking for help with?

The work consists of housekeeping and helping our reception. You’ll be working 25h/week and having 2 days off. We provide you with all the food and accommodation during your stay. This is a volunteer position in exchange for food and accommodation, however, there are ways of earning pocket money during your stay.

What’s the mission of your community?

There is a great opportunity to learn about local traditions and explore the city, its environment and history. As for the hostel environment, it offers the opportunity to meet other travellers, get recommendations and share experiences, and thoughts.

Volunteers’ age restrictions

Since we are a hostel that parties every night and a lot of activities have alcohol, we cannot host minors.
For the young souls over 30, we are a very energetic, crazy intense environment that demands a lot of energy. What happens usually is that volunteers over 30 tend to leave sooner, exactly because of the energy of the place (most of our guests are between 18 and 24). You can apply if you want, but be very sure about what you’re getting yourself into – we don’t want you to feel old or unaccepted but we also don’t want to lose a volunteer sooner than expected.

• 4-5 hours of help per day

• 5 days per week – 2 days off

Yes, we offer food and accommodation

What type of accommodation can you provide?

• Dormitory/shared rooms

You’ll be sleeping in a shared dormitory with other members of staff and everyone is an international traveler.

Diet – nutrition information

We can accommodate vegans and vegetarians – every day we have vegan dinners cooked by one of the volunteers

VISA SUPPORT – Are you able to assist with visa support, information, or provide invitation letters?

Maybe. We can help with an invitation letter if the candidate has good qualifications.
