A group of volunteers gathers around the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary sign, laughing and striking silly poses after a busy day outside. This is the spirit of our bear sanctuary volunteer project in northern Minnesota: hard work, close friendships, and lots of fun in the forest. Volunteers help with daily tasks that support American black bears and visitor education while living together in shared housing. Free food and accommodation are provided.
