Volunteer with horses in the heart of Rural Andalucia
Volunteer opportunity with horses (shared via our FB community) – Cortijo El Indiviso is looking for a volunteer (or a couple) to help with horses on a small farm in the province of Cádiz, rural Andalucía. The hosts say most tasks are hands-on with the horses, so they want at least one experienced rider who can take initiative. Typical duties include helping with feeds, exercising horses (lunging, hacking, flatwork), assisting the stable manager with daily yard chores, joining hacks, helping with lessons, and doing a night check. The schedule is 5 to 7 hours per day, with two days off weekly. Basic food and a private studio are provided.

Volunteer opportunity with horses – Looking for a volunteer or couple to join our friendly team at our small farm in the province of Cádiz, Spain. Most of the work will be direct with the horses, so one must be an experienced rider who can take initiative. Most day-to-day work will consist of supervising and helping with feeds, exercising our horses (lunging, hacking and flatwork), helping our stable manager with odd chores around the yard, accompanying her out on hacks, assisting with lessons, as well as doing the rounds once a night to check on horses.
Volunteering hours
Working hours will be between 5 to 7 hours a day, with 2 days off a week.
Requisites
It is preferable that the candidate has:
- Basic Spanish (most of our staff are Spanish speakers, excluding our managers).
- A driving license and own vehicle, as the nearest town is 10 minutes away (unless you are happy using a local taxi or bicycle).
Benefits: food and accommodation
Basic food and a private studio apartment will be provided. The studio includes a large double bed, bathroom and kitchen, with free Wi-Fi and Netflix.
About the ranch
Cortijo El Indiviso stables are about 10 minutes from Vejer de la Frontera in Cádiz. With over 22 years of experience in the equestrian world, they offer a variety of services from livery to trekking.
