Join a sustainable living project in Italy (Calabria region) –We are a group of people who live in Sangineto on the border with Belvedere Marittimo, famous for its wonderful beaches which are just 5 km far from our structure. Sangineto is a part of the Upper Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza, placed in the wonderful “Riviera del Cedro”. It is one of the most beautiful location/site of the coast in the region Calabria, due to its mild climate, natural beauty, cultural and artistic heritage and it is an area with strong tourist attractions.

The environment

The little town of Sangineto is part of Pollino National Park, and it is a good starting point for naturalistic excursions inside the park. We live on the hill at 400 m of high, in Pantana, in a structure surrounded by nature, between the sea and the mountains. Cosenza is 60km far and you can reach it by train in 45 minutes while Naple can be reached in 2 hours and a half, Diamante is 10km far from us and Scalea 30km.

The project

We are working to create an ecological holistic centre that will offer holistic, cultural and recreational activities in order to balance physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The place is in a location surrounded by total silence and peace of nature, away from the chaotic rhythms of urban life and it is a really regenerating, meditative and relaxing place. Our purpose is to offer a space that helps people to live in balance and harmony with themselves and the nature of experimenting with a sustainable lifestyle.

The vision

The centre we want to build will be equipped with an agro-camping with equipped tents, a large multipurpose-room for Presentations, Conferences, and Seminars, an outdoor space for recreational and holistic activities, a small restaurant for tasting vegetarian, vegan and raw dishes made with biological products, at km 0, a small bio-market for the sale and diffusion of biological, at Km 0, artisan products. There will be a biological vegetable garden, a biological orchard, that will give us the opportunity to eat daily good and high-quality food. We want to sell and distribute biological products to local markets and GAS to create a commercial network with the other farmers in the area. The remaining surrounding outside space will be used to set up and host a permanent Eco-Museum.

In the little wood that belongs to the land, it will be created a recreational path among the trees: tree climbing and suspended wood in order to offer to the clients a wide range of attractions among trees.

How many volunteers?

We can guest a maximum of two vegetarian/vegan people with a great desire to do, who love to live in harmony with nature, sharing our life experiences, ideas and knowledge.

The tasks required are:

• helping in the management of the vegetable garden and orchard,
• management of the garden,
• help in the Kitchen,
• maintenance work,
• help in touristic management and organization.

Things to do in your free time

In their free time volunteers can visit the beautiful surrounding area and do many activities: mountain excursions,trip on the sea, swimming etc., When they are free We can accompany them by car as far as the town of Belvedere Marittimo.

How many hours per day and week?

Volunteers will get food and accommodation for max 4-5 hours a day for 5 days a week.
