Hello, my name is Abdallah and I am the son of a Bedouin family who lives in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan. My family lives in a traditional Bedouin tent and moves around the desert a couple of times a year to find grass for their pack of goats and sheep. My mother and father are hardworking and could use some extra hands to help out in the camp.
A volunteer call:ย experience a nomadic lifestyle in the desert
Weโre looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to help my family for 2 weeks. The work will entail helping out with their animals and maintenance of the camp.
Free Food & Accommodation
The volunteers can sleep at a house in the Wadi Rum village but will spend days helping and eating with my family in the desert.
All meals and housing are provided for the volunteers, and there will be aย pick up from the airport in Amman.
Updates:
Currently, we run a company together with my brothers, where we offer desert tours and camping in the Wadi Rum desert.
We are looking for one volunteer (who preferably can speak or write in French, due to the number of French tourists) to help with tours and answer emails for 4 weeks preferably.
The work will entail helping out with tours, answering emails and talking to the tourists. As a volunteer, you will be staying in a house located in the Wadi Rum village and sleeping in the desert (while on tours).
All meals and housing are provided for the volunteers, and there will be pick up from the airport in Amman.
What you will get
You will learn the traditional way of life from the nomadic Bedouins and you will get to spend time in the beautiful, peaceful nature of Wadi Rum while you make friendships with the local people of Wadi Rum.
If you are interested in learning/improving your Arabic, there will be lots of time for that as well.
