Nagarjuna Buddhist Meditation Centre in Leicester welcomes volunteers to join a friendly, international community.
Help mainly in the vegetarian World Peace Café, with additional tasks in housekeeping, office support, painting and general cleaning. Full training is provided and no experience is required. Volunteers receive a shared twin en-suite room, three vegetarian meals daily and laundry. In exchange, the commitment is 35 hours per week with a minimum stay of three weeks. You can attend meditation classes and courses for free and are encouraged to join at least one class weekly. The centre is open to everyone and sits in a lively city-centre location close to shops, cafés and markets. House rules apply: no alcohol, drugs, meat or fish on site, no loud music or TV, and a reference is requested. This is a good option if you want practical hospitality experience, a calm routine and time to explore Buddhist meditation in a supportive setting.
