Mulu Eco Lodge is an eco project in Ethiopiaโs Choke Mountains, near the source of the Blue Nile.
The lodge and its NGO work with local farmers to reduce rural exodus and protect culture, soil and forests. Volunteers live off grid and help develop community projects such as English or sports lessons for children, building a community house and school, cooking healthier meals, biogas, water pumping and filtering systems. There are also opportunities in permaculture, food forests, organic gardening, bamboo construction and compost toilets. It is a hands on way to volunteer in Ethiopia and support mountain communities.
