ESC cultural volunteering in rural Romania. Curba de Cultură in Izvoarele is looking for EU volunteers aged 18 to 30 to join “Schroedinger’s Culture(al) Dilemma”, a long term European Solidarity Corps project.
Volunteers help to bring culture and creativity to a small rural community. You support non formal activities for children and teenagers, such as language clubs, creative workshops, cinema nights, music, dance or theatre events. You also help with small festivals, promotion of the commune and hikes or trips to discover the area.
The project is full time, about 6 hours per day, 5 days per week, with mentor support, trainings and Romanian language lessons. ESC covers international travel (up to a set budget), shared accommodation in a traditional village house, food allowance and pocket money, plus local transport and insurance. It is a good choice if you enjoy teamwork, countryside life and creating cultural activities with young people.
