Some monasteries may also have particular rules concerning clothing, diet, alcohol, smoking, phones, relationships, quiet hours or access to certain areas.
Volunteering does not necessarily mean joining the religious community or participating in every spiritual activity. Clarify the distinction between volunteer duties, community practices and any retreats, courses or teachings that may have separate conditions or costs.
