About the program

Who can participate?
ย University graduates between 18 and 35 years old. Without distinctions of nationality, race, religion, sexual condition or gender. (Anyone who does not meet these initial requirements but is interested in Buddhism is invited to send their application).

Who organizes it?
The Fo Guang Shan monastery in Taiwan. The activities will be directed by specialized monks in the different subjects that will be taught.

Where will it take place?
In the city of Kao Hsiung, south of Taiwan.

When? From July 7 to August 3, 2016.
Applications are accepted until April 15, 2016.

How much?
ย The program covers 100% of the expenses during the stay in the temple including accommodation, activities, meals, transportation … You only have to pay for the trip to the temple from where you are.

What are the activities?
- A) 14 days of monastic life (learning to live like a Buddhist monk) and studies of Buddhist philosophy.
- B) 7 days of intensive Zen meditation.
- C) 4 days of international seminar in which more than 1000 young people of different nationalities will participate.
- D) 3 days of tour through Taiwan knowing some of the most symbolic corners of the country.
