Hostel exchange in Cancun, Mexico 17/04/2025 – In a recent update from our Facebook group, we learned that Hostel Ka’beh, a popular local spot renowned for its community spirit, is actively seeking volunteers to integrate into its dynamic team. This is an opportunity to immerse oneself in a multicultural environment, meet people from all walks of life and participate in a myriad of activities.
Cancún is a coastal city in the state of Quintana Roo, located on the northeastern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula in southeastern Mexico. 📍 It’s right on the Caribbean Sea, famous for its turquoise waters, white-sand beaches, and vibrant nightlife.

For those who want to get some experience in the hospitality industry and live by the bluuuue Caribbean ocean!
We’re looking for people who are dynamic, proactive**, know how to party**, willing to pitch-in whenever necessary to give a helping hand, work as a team, and most importantly, maintain a positive attitude.
We have different positions open for immediate hiring:
- Reception supervisor ( only 3+months commitment)
- Reception assistant
- Bartender (experience required)
- Photographer (experience and equipment required)
- Party Organizer
- Maintenance
We offer accommodation, basic ingredients for your meals, and discounts in our bar, clubs, tours and activities in exchange for 28 hrs of help per week.
🍻 English is an absolute need and 1 month commitment is the minimum we can accept. If you are ready to travel (passport and/or visa ready) and feel like spending some time at the beach having a beer with your new friends on the white sand… we’ll be happy to have you in our team!

Food and accommodation exchange in Cancun
Volunteers at Hostel Ka’beh are treated as part of their extended family. In exchange for their commitment and energy, the hostel offers them accommodation and a generous supply of basic food items, including but not limited to rice, pasta, beans, lentils, oatmeal, and pancake flour. And for those with a penchant for culinary delights, there’s an added incentive: discounted rates at the hostel’s bar and restaurant.
Tasks
The roles awaiting volunteers are multifaceted.
They range from ensuring the cleanliness of the premises, aiding at the reception desk, bartending, and guiding guests to the beach, to even being part of the entertainment crew. Occasionally, some hands-on maintenance work might be on the cards, adding a touch of variety to the experience.
Requisites
Hostel Ka’beh has a few prerequisites for prospective volunteers.
A minimum one-month commitment is essential, underpinned by a positive attitude and an innate ability to gel with diverse groups of people. While a grasp of Spanish or English can be beneficial, the hostel emphasises that it isn’t a stringent requirement.
After all, a smile and enthusiasm can often bridge any language barriers.
