After retiring from a distinguished career at the Musรฉum National dโHistoire Naturelle in Paris, Russell dedicated himself to this project. Between 1993 and 2007, he meticulously hand-carved over 9,000 stones, preparing the intricate components necessary for the structure. In 2008, construction commenced on the site in Burgundy, with the basement level, featuring an impressive vaulted ceiling, completed after 13 years of dedicated work.
