Volunteers’ benefits ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ…

You will have the possibility to live in a very beautiful area and work with a bunch of joyful people in an extraordinary environment. You will have the possibility to influence what tasks are assigned to you, what hours you work and meet a lot of local people and tourist. You will have insurance, free food and comfortable accommodations. A bicycle is available to borrow for free to take you around the whole city using the many nice bicycle routes. But maybe best of all is our vast nature close by, where you can experience peace and maybe get a glimpse of the northern lights.

What to do in your free time ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿšฃ๐Ÿฆ’

The area is perfect for excursions and around the lake is a nine-kilometre-long walking and cycling path that is excellent for jogging and bike rides around to barbecue places that are provided with firewood. In the forests around the lake, there is a multitude of trails that are also good for trail running or mountain biking. Where we are, you will find the lake’s largest sandy beach where people build sand castles, play beach tennis and dive from the pier.
Thereโ€™s a high-altitude course in the middle of the treetops open every day until the last day of August, and on the other side of the lake is a large adventure playground, with high climbing nets, trampolines, skateboarding, maze, cable car and water play. There is also an outdoor gym to use for free.

Close by is an 800-meter-long forest trail. Along the path, there are eleven challenges of varying character and degrees of difficulty. Here you will find, among other things, an eight-meter-long crypt tunnel and a vine that you can swing between platforms with.

A short walk away is the city’s largest outdoor pool, with water slides, water canals, whirlpools, hot tubs and trampolines

Two beach volleyball courts and a bike park and a pump track are open and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for free. The two tracks are suitable for several different means of transport but are extra good for MTB and BMX bikes.
Around the lake, there are several piers and other good places for fishing. Fishing is free, but fishing licenses must be redeemed.

There is also the cityโ€™s entertainment with events, concerts, bars, clubs, cafes, restaurants, and shopping. You can also go hiking, paddling, and visit museums and other cultural arrangements for free.

Geography ๐ŸŒณ

We are located in the Arctic, which means warm short and sunny summers with lots of vegetation and animals, and cold, dark winters with lots of snow. The contrasts between seasons are very noticeable and each one has its charm. During the fall the trees will be very colourful, the cold will approach and lighting candles at night is a cosy tradition.
