Words coming from the last volunteer of Short Giraffe Hostel and the first Volunteer of Piggy Hostel in Varkala ð
Hi, this is Sejal here. I’m currently a second-year student at IIM Rohtak. I volunteered for Short Giraffe Hostel before and this time, I volunteered for Piggy Hostel for a month. A lot of people ask me if this volunteering is a part of my curriculum. The truth, it’s not. Does it help me anyway? Definitely YES.

Being a volunteer, I’ve had one of the best experiences of my life till date. Hosting people, organising events, building connections, having long meaningful conversations with people you met just hours ago and managing the entire place coz you love it as your own! âĪïļ
Adding on, Varkala is a beautiful place with an amazing vibe, wonderful people and serene beaches. Whoever comes here, falls in love with this quaint little beach town and trust me, SO DID I.
October 2020 had been a memorable month where we just started hosting people after the pandemic. A lot of changes followed, the name, policies, the town, the crowd, almost everything. But what remained constant was the vibe of this beautiful beach town, Varkala and the certainty of encountering beautiful souls at the Hostel. One of them will surely be the one managing the hostel, @xkanux! ð
