What is tennis volunteering? 🎾
Tennis volunteering involves helping organise, teach or support tennis activities without necessarily being employed as a professional coach. Roles may include assisting with beginner lessons, preparing equipment, supporting tournaments or helping community sports programmes. Playing tennis recreationally is different from volunteering in tennis coaching or event organisation.
Teaching tennis and supporting sports programmes
Some organisations may welcome volunteers with previous tennis experience, coaching qualifications or knowledge of sports education. Other activities, such as event preparation and administration, may not require specialist training.
If the role involves coaching children, confirm safeguarding policies, background checks, supervision and the qualifications required. Volunteers should support trained coaches rather than take unsupervised responsibility for young participants.
