Explore learning centre volunteer opportunities in projects where education, training, workshops or practical skill-sharing are an important part of the organisation or setting.
Learning centres can take many forms, from community education spaces and early learning programmes to farms or sustainability centres built around practical learning and knowledge exchange.
What is a learning centre? 📚
A learning centre is a place or programme organised around education, training, skill-sharing or other structured learning activities. It may operate independently or alongside a school, community project, farm or NGO.
Learning centres and education
A learning centre does not necessarily mean a formal school, and volunteers are not automatically expected to teach. Roles may involve workshops, practical activities, administration, construction, gardening or support for educators. Projects where education itself is central may also belong in the broader Education archive.
How to use this page
Check the publication date, current activities, volunteer duties, weekly schedule, required experience, accommodation, meals, minimum stay and any costs. If children or young people attend the centre, ask about supervision, safeguarding, screening and role boundaries. Volunteers should not replace qualified educational or childcare staff.
