Breakfast-related tasks are most common in hostels, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, hotels, retreat centres and other hospitality settings. Activities may include preparing simple food and drinks, setting up a buffet, serving guests, clearing tables, washing dishes or helping to keep the breakfast area clean.

Food preparation requires basic hygiene even when the meals are simple. Hands, utensils and work surfaces should be kept clean, raw and cooked foods handled appropriately, food stored at suitable temperatures and dietary or allergen information communicated clearly when relevant.
Hospitality task or regular employment?
Breakfast preparation may be an occasional shared task in a community or family exchange, or a regular guest-service duty in a commercial accommodation business. Fixed breakfast shifts, food service and other productive hospitality duties may raise employment, labour or immigration questions even when accommodation is provided in exchange.
The tag refers to breakfast preparation or service as an activity. A listing should not be included simply because breakfast is offered to volunteers as part of their accommodation or food arrangement.
