Explore volunteering opportunities in Estonia, including community projects, environmental initiatives, hospitality exchanges, European volunteering programmes and other independent volunteering experiences.
Projects may be based in Tallinn, smaller towns, rural areas or on Estonia’s islands. Some opportunities may be seasonal, archived or no longer active, so always check the publication date and confirm current availability directly with the host or organisation.
How to use this page
Open the opportunity that interests you and read the full announcement carefully. Check the publication date, activity dates and any application deadline before contacting the host.
To apply or request more information, look for the contact details at the end of the listing. Depending on the project, these may include an official website, email address or application form.
Before accepting an opportunity, confirm the expected activities, weekly hours, days off, accommodation, meals, exact location, transport arrangements and any fees or contributions directly with the host or organisation.
Some projects may provide accommodation, meals or other forms of hospitality in exchange for a limited number of hours of help. Other opportunities may have different arrangements, including funded programmes or paid roles. Always check the conditions of the individual listing.
Voluntouring does not organise placements, select volunteers or mediate between volunteers and hosts. Older announcements may remain online for archival and informational purposes.
European volunteering programmes
Some opportunities in Estonia may be organised through European programmes and can include accommodation, food, insurance, travel support or pocket money depending on the project and eligibility conditions.

Visas and volunteering in Estonia
Entry and residence requirements depend on your nationality, length of stay and the nature of the volunteering activity. Do not assume that visa-free or tourist entry automatically determines whether every type of volunteering or work exchange is permitted.
For non-EU citizens taking part in formal voluntary service, Estonia has specific immigration provisions. Participation may be based on an agreement with the organisation responsible for the voluntary service, and depending on the circumstances a long-stay visa or residence permit may be required.
Check the current requirements through the EU Immigration Portal information for volunteers in Estonia and the relevant Estonian authorities before travelling.
Insurance and practical arrangements
Make sure your insurance covers the activities involved in the project. Farming, construction, animal care, outdoor work and other practical activities may not automatically be covered by every standard travel policy.
If a contribution or deposit is requested, ask for the exact amount, what it covers and whether it is refundable before making any payment.
For additional general guidance, read Voluntouring’s information about safety and legality in volunteering and work exchanges.
Important: project availability, accommodation arrangements, immigration requirements and insurance conditions can change. Confirm current information directly with the host and consult relevant official sources before making travel or financial commitments.
