Which languages are spoken in Guatemala? 🗣️🇬🇹
Spanish is Guatemala’s official language, but the country is highly multilingual. Guatemala recognises 22 Mayan languages as well as Garífuna and Xinka. In some communities, Spanish may not be everyone’s first language. Before applying, ask which languages are used at the project and whether Spanish or a local language is important for your role.
