A new edition is now open
Departamento Internacional PREFECO in Morelia, Mexico has opened applications for the 17th edition of Amazing Brotherhood Among Nations, its long-running intercultural volunteer exchange program.
A no-fee cultural exchange in Morelia
This is a no-fee opportunity for international volunteers who would like to share their country’s culture in English with high school students while living with a Mexican host family and discovering local traditions, school life and everyday culture in Morelia.
Dates and basic requirements
The new edition is expected to run from August 17th, 2026 to December 3rd, 2026. PREFECO is selecting four volunteers from different countries. Applicants should be over 22, have a clean criminal record, and hold a bachelor’s degree or be in the final years of university studies. Advanced English is required, while Spanish is not required.
What selected volunteers receive
Selected volunteers receive free accommodation in a private room with a Mexican family, three meals a day, pocket money, airport pickup, cultural participation and two school trips. International flights and medical insurance are not included.
What volunteers will do
Volunteers will take part in a structured educational environment, sharing topics connected to their own country’s culture, traditions, society, history, food, music, art, tourism and more. The program also offers a chance to experience Mexican celebrations such as Day of the Dead and Noche Mexicana.
Application deadline
The application deadline is June 27th, 2026. Early applicants may have a better chance of being selected.
