Baan Din Doi Natural Building in Chiang Rai, Thailand, was founded by Alain Madec, a natural builder originally from France. In 2015, Alain and his wife, Fon, initiated the project by renting a 7,000 square meter orchard, where they constructed two small earth houses using various natural building techniques and materials. Alain has attended several training courses in natural building and permaculture, and together with Fon, they have developed Baan Din Doi into a learning center promoting sustainable building practices.
