Matala Hostel is hiring in Crete!
Our hostel which is located near the beach of Matala, a beautiful village on the southernmost coast of Crete, is opening its doors for the first time this year and is looking for passionate and outgoing people to fill the positions of :
- Receptionist
- Bartender
- Assistant bartender
for this summer season 2022 (mid-April to November), for a minimum stay of two months.
RECEPTIONIST
Responsibilities for the receptionist position include:
- Managing the reservations
- Checking guests in and out of the hostel
- Handling payments
- Answering questions about our facilities and the surrounding area
- Helping guests with car rentals and tours
Requirements:
- Fluency in English (other languages will be taken into account)
- Basic computer skills
- Friendly and eager to learn
- ย Good interpersonal skills
Schedule:
- 8 hours per day, morning shift (roughly 8:00-16:00) or evening shift (16:00-00:00),
- 6 or 7 days per week, depending on your preference

BARTENDER & ASSISTANT
Responsibilities for the Bartender positions include:
- Taking orders and handling money
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages
- Prepare snacks
- Interact with customers
- Restock bar inventory and supplies
Requirements:
- Working experience in the same position
- Positive attitude and good communication skills
- Ability to keep the bar organised and clean
- Fluency in English (other languages will be taken into account)
Schedule:
- 8 hours per day, morning shift (09:00-17:00) or night shift (18:00-02:00),
- 6 or 7 days per week, depending on your preference
In exchange, we offer a bed in a staff dormitory (with a private bathroom) and a base salary, plus all employee benefits as required by Greek law.

Due to Greeceโs legislation, only European citizens or people with a working visa can legally be accepted as employees.
