Saint Ann Foundation is a registered Ugandan NGO. hey welcome international volunteers year-round, with flexible start dates and durations ranging from one week up to several months. When you apply, you’ll fill out their Volunteer Application Form via their website, including personal details, project preferences, availability, and motivation (and potentially upload supporting documents like passport scan and certificates). After confirmation, they arrange your airport pick-up at Entebbe and take you to the volunteer residence in Kasangati (a short walk from the school and community center). Accommodation options include a shared volunteer house, host family stays, dormitories, or even tenting, depending on availability. There are multiple project areas where volunteers can help, including early childhood care, teaching (literacy, English, basic subjects), performing arts (music, dance, drama), empowerment initiatives for women, agricultural/farming work, microfinance & entrepreneurship support, community development, sports coaching, and even medical or healthcare volunteering (placements at health centers or clinics). Most projects run from Monday to Friday, with varying daily hours—typically 35–40 hours weekly. Caregiver and childcare roles may require longer commitment and involve working directly with children in school settings or care centers from around 9 am to mid‑afternoon, followed by preparation work and reflection time at the volunteer house. In your free time, you’re encouraged to explore the surrounding areas of Kampala or Kasangati, take part in cultural excursions, market visits, or arrange safaris, gorilla trekking, and local experiences via partner organizations (usually at your own cost).
