Sumatra is one of Indonesia’s major islands, located in the western part of the country. It includes several provinces and regions with different cultures, environments and local conditions. Bukit Lawang, in North Sumatra, is a village near the rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park, but volunteering in Sumatra is not limited to this area.
