What are student volunteering opportunities? 🎓
Student volunteering opportunities are activities or placements intended for people enrolled in educational or training programmes. They may include volunteer internships, university-recognised placements, community projects or organised international exchanges. Some programmes offer structured learning or academic recognition, while others provide practical experience without formal university credits.
Volunteering, internships and student exchanges
Depending on the organisation, students may contribute to environmental projects, animal welfare, community initiatives, research, education or practical work.
For example, ColivingLiguria in Italy describes a student internship option alongside its volunteer exchanges. Hopeland Dog Sanctuary in Greece also welcomes university students interested in internships or Erasmus+ traineeships.
Not every student programme involves volunteering. Conferences, cultural exchanges and educational events may have different participation arrangements. Likewise, academic credits are not guaranteed simply because a host describes an opportunity as an internship.
