A spa may operate independently or form part of a hotel, resort, retreat centre or community enterprise.
Volunteering and working in a spa
Roles can include preparing treatment rooms, welcoming guests, helping with administration, maintaining facilities or supporting qualified practitioners. Some organisations also look for experienced trainers who can share professional skills with local staff.
For example, Sugar Spa in Siem Reap, Cambodia previously advertised an opportunity for an experienced beauty professional to train and supervise its team. The listing is historical, and current availability must be confirmed.
Access to a sauna, hot tub or spa treatment during free time does not necessarily mean that spa activities are part of the volunteer role.
