A nomad base is an informal term for a place that travellers can use as a temporary base rather than simply passing through for a night or two. It may offer accommodation, reliable internet, shared spaces, community life or conditions suitable for longer stays. It can overlap with coliving or coworking, but neither is required. A hostel or guesthouse does not automatically qualify simply because it provides Wi-Fi.
What makes a project relevant?
The nomad element should be a genuine part of the host’s accommodation model or community. This may mean explicitly welcoming digital nomads, van travellers or long-term travellers, providing facilities for remote work, operating a nomad village or shared base, or offering enough flexibility for participants to stay and organise their own work or travel around the exchange.
