Growing, harvesting and using herbs

Herbal products can also cause side effects or interact with medicines. If a project encourages volunteers to consume preparations or makes specific health or therapeutic claims, ask what the preparation contains and seek appropriate professional advice when relevant. Do not stop or replace prescribed treatment on the basis of advice received during a volunteer exchange.
