Football ⚽

Explore football volunteer opportunities, also described as soccer volunteering in some countries, where volunteers can help with coaching, training sessions, football academies, community sports programmes or other activities in which football is a real part of the role.
Opportunities vary considerably. Some projects look for experienced coaches, while others need assistants who can support local staff, help organise sessions or combine football with education and community activities.
What counts as football volunteering? ⚽
Football volunteering involves football being a real part of what the volunteer is expected to do. This may include coaching or assisting coaches, supporting training sessions, organising games, helping at a football academy or contributing to a community programme where football activities are regularly provided.
Football coaching and community programmes
Requirements can range from playing experience and an interest in coaching to recognised qualifications, depending on the project and level of responsibility. Ask the host what volunteers actually do, who leads the sessions and what experience or training is expected.
Many football projects involve children or teenagers. In these cases, confirm how participants are supervised, what safeguarding procedures are in place and whether references, background checks or coaching qualifications are required.
How to use this page
Check the publication date and confirm the current football activities, volunteer responsibilities, weekly hours, days off, accommodation, meals, minimum stay and any fees or compensation directly with the host.
