Explore dubbing volunteer opportunities and creative projects where recording replacement dialogue for film, animation, video or other audiovisual productions is a genuine part of the role.
This is a specific audiovisual skills tag. Dubbing may involve voice performance, translated dialogue, recording sessions and synchronisation with existing images or characters.
What is dubbing? 🎙️🎬
Dubbing is the process of replacing or re-recording spoken dialogue for an audiovisual production, often in another language and with the new performance synchronised to the original images. On Voluntouring, this tag should be used when dubbing is an actual part of the role. General narration, audiobook recording or unrelated voice-over work does not automatically belong here.
Dubbing and other voice work
Dubbing can involve acting and voice performance, but it is different from general voice-over. A project may require participants to perform translated dialogue, match timing or character delivery, or work alongside audio and video production teams.
Check whether previous acting or recording experience is required and whether the project provides a studio, script, direction and technical support.
