Volunteering in Angola… for independent travellers!
Some of these opportunities are completely free (you receive free food and accommodation in exchange for voluntary work – wwoof style). Others opportunities require a daily/monthly contribution fee for the food. Remember that many countries in Africa, such as Angola, are in the development process, and volunteering can’t always be a ‘free’ thing.
If you want to have an “impact” but you only have a few weeks to do volunteering abroad, then we recommend you to choose the non-free opportunities: you will contribute not only with your skills but also with your money. This will give the local community a better chance to develop. When you travel to Africa, consider paying one of our NGO for the accommodation instead of a “western hotel” or a touristic village owned by a foreign touristic business.
Our website, Voluntouring, is not a touristic agency and is not taking any agency intermediation fees from the organizations listed below. All of your money will go directly to support the NGO and your stay in Angola. This is why you will find that the fees for the volunteering experiences, when requested, are much lower than the ones displayed in other voluntourism platforms.
Insurance
Some organizations in Angola might require travel insurance: this is the one that we’re usually happy to recommend: nomads insurance.
