Hereâs a volunteering and hospitality initiative from our Facebook group. Geo Tribe is inviting nature-minded volunteers to live by the sea and desert inside the Abu Galoum Protected Area (near Dahab/Nuweiba, South Sinai). Itâs a simple, Bedouin-adjacent camp where daily life follows the rhythms of wind, sea and sand. In exchange for steady help, youâll have accommodation and vegetarian meals and the chance to slow down in a remarkable landscape.
What the project is about
The camp blends low-impact hospitality with care for place.
Volunteers join the resident team to keep spaces welcoming and functional. Typical days include cooking and kitchen help, keeping shared areas clean, and general camp upkeep. If you bring experience in baking, cooking, woodworking or maintenance, theyâll gladly put those skills to use; attitude, initiative and respect for nature matter most.
Time commitment & rhythm
The team asks for a flexible stay of at least two weeks, with the option to extend up to two months. Tasks and schedules shift with weather, guests and seasonal needs, so a practical, self-directed approach is appreciated.
Whatâs included
Youâll be hosted on site with simple accommodation and vegetarian meals.
Expect a quiet, remote setting, starry nights, early mornings and the kind of routine that rewards consistency more than speed. This is a protected marine and desert area: please arrive ready to tread lightly and follow local and environmental guidelines.
Location
Abu Galoum, South Sinai, Egypt. A stunning stretch of coast and mountains between Dahab and Nuweiba. Itâs remote; plan for limited services and pack what you need for a comfortable stay.

Voluntouring.org promotes opportunities rooted in cultural exchange and mutual learning. Before applying, ask yourself: Is this a fair exchange, or could it replace paid labour? Choose consciously, ask questions, and make sure the experience is respectful, safe, and aligned with your values. Always check visa requirements â hosts cannot provide legal work permits.
